Maintenance of electrical systems

Introduction:
This course presents and discusses the latest global trends in the operation and maintenance of electrical works, covering electricity generation systems, transmission and distribution networks, transformation stations, and control monitoring systems. The core elements of the course will be divided between defining electrical maintenance works and how to conduct them safely and professionally. The course will also address risk assessment during electrical work, how to calculate and evaluate risks, and work on risk mitigation.
Course Objectives:
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
Understand the fundamentals of electrical maintenance.
Familiarize themselves with electrical equipment maintenance.
Grasp the entire power system.
Identify essential field tests for planned maintenance programs.
Develop a sound maintenance program.
Understand safety considerations in electrical maintenance.
Learn about protection devices and safeguards against electrical faults.
Apply safe work practices in maintenance operations.
Training Methodology:
The course will combine presentations with interactive discussions guided by the trainer based on participants' individual interests.
Practical exercises, video materials, and case studies will be utilized to stimulate discussions and provide maximum benefit to participants, supporting formal presentation sessions. The course leader will extensively benefit from real-life case examples and case studies in which they have personally participated.
Participants will be motivated through group workshops and information clarification using simulation programs and devices that will be available with the trainer for clear understanding.
