Project planning, scheduling, and cost estimation skills

Introduction:

Project scheduling is the process of transforming the project plan into a timeline for execution, starting from the moment work begins, through all sequential and interrelated activities, events, and key milestones, until the completion and closure of the project. Through an interactive learning environment, participants in this intensive and practical course will learn how to estimate activity durations, dependencies between activities, estimate resource requirements, and how to define the critical path and sequence to enable them to develop a realistic project schedule. Participants will also learn how to use Earned Value Management (EVM) to understand schedule and cost variances, and design recovery techniques to bring projects back on track. By the end of this course, participants will have the necessary tools to successfully complete projects within the allocated time and costs.

Course Objectives:

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

Estimate project activity durations and costs and identify resource needs.

Professionally manage the project, enabling them to accomplish it within the specified time to achieve project goals.

Define a detailed scope of work for the project and develop a work breakdown structure.-

Prepare a schedule for project-related tasks, link them to resources and costs using My Project software.

Estimate project costs.

Prepare budget estimates for the project.

Monitor project performance.

Predict potential problems before they occur and how to address and prepare for them effectively.

Determine the status of the project schedule and schedule and cost variances.

Apply the project schedule and budget recovery techniques.

Scheduling and time management, cost estimation, and management.

The ability to identify and address risks, estimate time and cost, manage teams, and communicate with stakeholders.

Methodology:

The learning process in the course is enhanced through a mix of lectures, case studies, exercises, and simulations. In an interactive classroom environment, you will engage in real-life case studies, lively discussions, and practical exercises.

Target Audience:

This training course targets project managers, project management administrators, project sponsors, technical managers, senior management, and all individuals involved in project management and project metrics.
